We all know of someone affected by Breast Cancer, a family member, a friend,
perhaps even yourself. Many have exhausted their insurance co-pays, or they don't
have insurance at all. This is where the Dream Works Cancer Foundation comes in.
We provide the monies for the uninsured and under insured to receive
mammograms, screenings, follow-ups, transportation, and bras. Early detection is
key to survival. Our current mission supports breast cancer mammogram and
screenings for younger women under the age of 40. Statics show that in 2011, an
estimated 230,480 new cases of invasive breast cancer were expected to be
diagnosed in women in the U.S., along with 57,650 new cases of non-invasive (in
situ) breast cancer.

We need your support to carry out our mission.

You're Not Alone

Hi I’m Terri-age 48 diagnosed
with Stage 4 Metastatic Breast
Cancer. For those of you who
aren’t familiar with the stages
(because I certainly wasn’t),
Stage 4 was considered the
final stage when I was
diagnosed in December 2009, I
remember telling the doctor in
the midst of my tears that God
could turn this all around. She
responded that I was right and
to keep that attitude.

Why Me?

Younger women generally do
not consider themselves to be
at risk forbreast cancer. Just
under 7% of all breast cancer
cases occur in women under 40
years old. However, breast
cancer can strike at any age,
and women of every age
should be aware of their
personal risk factors for breast
cancer.

Breast Cancer in Young Women
About Breast Cancer

Breast cancer is a disease in which
malignant (cancer) cells form in the
tissues of the breast. It is
considered a heterogeneous
disease—differing by individual,
age group, and even the kinds of
cells within the tumors themselves.
Obviously no woman wants to
receive this diagnosis, but hearing
the words “breast cancer” doesn’t
always mean an end. It can be the
beginning of learning how to fight,
getting the facts, and finding hope.
